End of Month Report - August

August was a very successful month for me in the league with three wins out of three. Although they were not the most difficult of fixtures, I am very proud of my team at they fact they managed to win all three epsecially the two 3-0 scorelines. I am also pleased with the progression into the second round of the German Cup which has set up what promises to be an interesting game against Werder Bremen.

Furthermore, I have now decided on the tactics I will be using (for now at least). The formation is a basic 4-4-2 with the following team instructions:

I have also decided on my strongest first XI, these will be the players I will try to play more often than others unless they are not fit enough, injured, suspended or extremely off-form:

Start of Bundesliga Season

As the start of the new season draws nearer, I have high hopes of this squad. The original team was capable of achieving a top half finish but with the new signings that I have made, I believe a higher league position is achievable. As you can see, pre-season went extremely well with six wins out of six and a competitive win in the cup to get the team ready for a long and potentially tough season ahead. With my first three games being against Bochum (Home), Cottbus (Away) and Bielefeld (Home), a great start could be on the cards for my team.

Team Decision

The team that I will be managing on my latest Football Manager 2009 career has been decided. The team is Hoffenheim. They claimed 75% of the votes in the poll as they beat Dortmund. This is going to be a very good challenge for me and it will be interesting to see how it develops so keep visiting this site for updates.

Team Choice

Having looked around the German teams on Football Manager 2009, I have drawn up a shortlist of two teams that I would like to manage at. These teams are Dortmund and Hoffenheim.

Team: Dortmund
Predicted League Position: 11th
Transfer Budget: Mid-table finish - £3,200,000
Top half finish - £3,300,000
Continental Qualification - £3,700,000
Title Challenge - £4,000,000
Winner - £4,300,000

Team: Hoffenheim
Predicted League Position: 12th
Transfer Budget: Mid-table finish - £4,500,000
Top half finish - £6,000,000
Continental Qualification - £6,500,000
Title Challenge - £7,000,000
Winner - £7,750,000

Please vote for the team that you think I should manage using the poll on the right. Thanks.

Country of new team.

According to the poll that was carried out, the team that I will next manage is to be from Germany. This will be a completely new experience for me as I have never managed there on any Football Manager game before. A new poll will be set up later with a selection of German teams that I would be interested in managing. I will create this list once I have had a look through the teams from Germany and decided which would be interesting to manage. Of course one of the options will not be Bayern Munich because I believe that it will not be much of a challenge.

Team for new career

I have decided to create a new career on the Football Manager 2009 game. I have recently been on a career as manager of Italian club ACF Fiorentina where I have achieved a great deal of success winning 3 Serie A trophies, 2 Italian Super Cups, an Italian Cup and even a EURO Cup in just 3 seasons at the club. Adding to this, at the begining of the 4th season, I have already added another Italian Super Cup to the collection.

Although this career is going extemely well I would like a new challenge and try to test my managergerial abilities at another club. I have decided to leave it down to you. You will decide what team I will be an my career.

Firstly, I will give a shortlist of different countries for me to manage in. After a winner has been decided from this list I will draw up another shortlist of teams I would be interested in managing at. The winner of that poll will be my new club.

Thanks for your help!
